Adults Nature Awareness Workshops
Wilderness Inquiry Group
2013/14 update: THE WILDERNES INQUIRY GROUP HAS NOW STOPPED RUNNING...however we invite you to spend as much time as you possibly can, padding about our beautiful universe! We've left the blurb up in case it inspires and you're always welcome to call and make an enquiry for privately run groups.
Explore and deepen your connection with nature, self and community through seasonally-inspired exercises and activities. A unique outdoor experiential inquiry that is both reflective and dynamic, profound and playful. Plus tea break around the fire. Led by wilderness facilitators Hetti Dysch & Sebastian Kelly.
All adults welcome. Please come dressed for all weather with sensible shoes and waterproofs. Park and meet outside front of Sharpham House 7pm. Book or drop in. For more info please call 07850 401759 £10.00 per person.
The invitation is for adults who are interested to gather on a monthly basis to deepen their connection with nature within a community of like-minded people. I will be co-facilitating with Sebastian Kelly and we will run the group throughout all weather systems, starting in the darkness of January, moving towards the emerging light of spring, into the throws of summer and settling back into the fall of autumn. It will be based in woodland set within the Sharpham Estate and will consist of up to two guided exercises per week with a tea break in between. There will be a central fire hearth around which we will start and end our meetings. The inquiry will take the form of varying exercises that will sometimes involve pair work, individual work and at other times group work.
The Wilderness Inquiry Group will present you with the opportunity to explore what wilderness therapy might be for you; to take the time to rest and find nourishment amidst trees, fire, earth and the evening sky; it will give you the space to inquire into your personal pathways to health and wellbeing. Through community we may at times discuss our individual journeys, our suffering and our joy; we may at times not speak at all to each other; we may play and laugh together, we may even dance or go alone into the darkness for a night adventure.
The cost is £10.00 per person, which includes refreshments during the breaktime. You will need to bring: torch, warm and waterproof clothes, sensible footwear, water to drink, your own mug and if you want to star gaze, a mat to lie on! Meet at Sharpham House at 7pm.
All welcome.
"Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us. We need hours of aimless wandering or spates of time sitting on park benches observing the mysterious world of ants and the canopy of treetops"
[Maya Angelou]
